The multidisciplinary workshop on ‘Political Narratives in Public Discourse’ held at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig November 11-13 2024 explored the concept of narratives and their impact on democratic processes.

We started piloting the experiments on the role of homophily for trust on social media. Preliminary analysis supports the role of homophily in determining trust and suggests further avenues to understand how this shared sense of identity can be created and maintained in social media.
